Sustainable development co-benefits tool (SD Tool)

The SD Tool is a user-friendly survey used to create a detailed report describing the sustainable development co-benefits of CDM projects and programmes of activities (PoAs) for submission to the UNFCCC secretariat for publication online.

The SD Tool is available to CDM project participants and coordinating/managing entities for use on a voluntary basis.

The published reports are available to everyone online.

Step 1: Create an external UNFCCC account

Project participants (PPs) and coordinating/managing entities (CMEs) can access the tool with an external UNFCCC account.
Please create an account on https://userregistration.unfccc.int

Step 2: Access the SDTool web site

With the account name and password you will be able to login to https://collaborate.unfccc.int/tools/cdm/sdtool

Step 3: Request access to your project

You will be able to request access to your project clicking on the button , if it is not already listed in the project table. You will be informed by mail if your request was approved or rejected.

Step 4: Edit & Submit

If your project is in the table you can start editing it with the button

Step 5: Promote

You can use the SDC description report to promote the sustainable development co-benefits of your CDM project activity or PoA.
