In-forum training workshop on the use of economic modelling tools related to the areas of the work programme
On the 30th of April and 1st of May
2018 there will be a workshop held during the Bonn Climate Change Conference to
discuss the use of economic modelling tools related to the areas of the work
programme. During the 47th Sessions of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies (SB 47), Parties agreed that the two-days training workshop is
to be organized under the guidance of the Chairs of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), that
will include experts invited from both developing and developed countries, as
well as from intergovernmental and international organizations. Therefore, this
in-forum training workshop is arranged as a mandated event for the participants
of the Bonn Climate Conference.
There are four main sessions throughout the two-days
training workshop: "Introduction and overview:
modelling tools and their application on the assessment of the impacts of
response measures", "Needs and/or opportunities for modelling tools to assess the
impacts of response measures and its potential gaps", "Showcasing
existing methodologies and case studies", and "Showcasing existing programmes on the
use of modelling tools to assess the impacts of climate policies". The workshop is open for
participation of Parties, representatives of relevant bodies established under
the Convention, experts, youth, practitioners and stakeholders.
