      The objective of this NAMA is to reduce fugitive emissions from processing, transport and distribution of natural gas. In this context, the Project seeks to develop and implement a reliable MRV mechanism for emission reductions from the implementation of cogeneration projects in the Oil and Gas sector in Mexico. In Finally, the NAMA procures to get together all available funding in order to overcome potential barriers for the implementation of each Project.

      Currently, the preparation stage of the NAMA has begun by documenting all the required information. Financial support is required to finish the preparation stage and to design and develop the pilot Project and the NAMA implementation.

      Once the preparation stage has been finished, an estimated amount of 32 million USD will be required to develop and implement the pilot Project. This amount is based on a former cogeneration projet at the "Cangrejera" Complex.

      The full implementation of the NAMA is estimated in 1,050 million USD for a poetntial of 3.5GW
