DescriptionOfMitigationAction:
This NAMA seeks to promote a program that incentivizes the efficiency in the consumption of fossil fuels through the substitution of 500 thousand vehicles with an age of 15 years or older with new vehicles in order to renew the national fleet. <br /> <br /> This NAMA seeks to produce the following benefits:<br /> 1. Reduction of the fatalities and accidents related to vehicles that do not cover the minimum security requirements and do not have security devices.<br /> 2. The creation of new job posts related with the automotive sector and the accounting of the benefits and implementation of the NAMA.<br /> 3. An average reduction in the emission of Greenhouse Gases of 2.63 million tons of CO2e per year due to the use of more efficient vehicles (less pollutant), 26.3 million tons of CO2e by the end of the NAMA's lifetime.<br /> 4. Contribution in the improvement of the air quality.<br /> 5. The reduction of the average age of the national vehicle fleet (aiming to reduce its age from 14.8 to 11.2 years).
