Graduate students
Must be enrolled in a master’s level Programme at an accredited university;
Emphasis will be given to universities that have:
Relevant disciplines/curriculum (e.g. environmental science/management, climate change adaptation, resilience);
Relevant expertise in departments, ongoing south-south or north-south partnerships;
A pre-existing academic requirement for Master level students to participate in a capstone project/research as part of their graduation requisites.
 
Current concept notes and project ideas:

1. Lima Adaptation Knowledge Initiative:


Graduate students are invited to focus on the project to address a priority knowledge gap identified through the LAKI. Please see the background information on preparing a project proposal focused on the LAKI here.



2. Feed into the formulation and implementation of national adaptation plans:


Graduate students are invited to focus the project on addressing a specific knowledge gap and need related to the process to formulate and implement national adaptation plans. Please see the details here.

Learning event for the UNFCCC secretariat (June 2021)- The event gathered students, partners and secretariat staff to discuss the highlights and lessons learned from three projects carried out by students under the UN Climate Change and Universities Partnership Programme. Learn more
Second expert group meeting on support for Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) implementation (May 2021)- The NWP lead (Ms. Rojina Manandhar) shared experiences from the UN Climate Change and Universities Partnership Programme as part of a panel discussion on capacity building, partnerships and peer to peer exchange. Learn more
Knowledge exchange event at the Gobeshona 2021 conference (January 2021)- At the 2021 Gobeshona conference focused on promoting research into action on locally-led adaptation, the secretariat convened a session on the UN Climate Change and Universities Partnership Programme highlighting the fruitfulness of collaborations with universities, young professionals and expert organisations.
