METHODOLOGIES FOR ASSESsING ADAPTATION NEEDS IN THE CONTEXT OF NATIONAL ADAPTATION PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION
The Adaptation Committee, in collaboration with the Least Developed Countries Expert Group, NWP partners, users and
developers of relevant methodologies, launched this pilot inventory of methodologies that are currently used to assess adaptation needs, and how these can be addressed. This inventory serves as a centralized information hub for those looking to understand which tools are available for assessing various types of adaptation needs in different contexts.
The inventory of methodologies to assess adaptation needs features a wide range of tools, case studies and other resources submitted by Parties and key users of these methodologies.
In addition to operating as a reference portal for Parties and organizations to locate information, the inventory will also serve as input for a technical paper, along with submissions from Parties received in early 2021. The paper will shed light on the different methodologies for assessing adaptation needs, as well as their application, related gaps, good practices, lessons learned and guidelines.
For further background information please refer to the report of CMA 1.3 here, decision 11/CMA.1, para. 15-17.
For your convenience, below you will find the latest submitted tools, case studies and/or other resources submitted as of January 2021.
Please use the search filters available below (region, scale, adaptation sector/theme, element, climate hazard and target group) to identify the most relevant content for you.
The inventory and related search functions are being updated in line with general improvements of the UNFCCC website and the Adaptation Knowledge Portal.
