The purpose of a priority-setting workshop was to better understand and categorize adaptation knowledge gaps in the Hindu Kush Himalayan subregion (i.e., Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, Myanmar and Pakistan), agree on a list of strategic priority knowledge gaps, facilitate the design of (collaborative) response actions, and discuss possible response actions and associated institutions for addressing these gaps in the subregion. The priority-setting workshop for the Hindu Kush Himalayan subregion was organized back to back with the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network forum and in collaboration with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). The workshop gathered 10-15 experts ranging from multistakeholder group members to support group members.

The priority-setting exercise resulted in the identification of 16 priority knowledge gaps currently impeding effective adaptation practices in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region.
